Checking account bonuses live right now
Twelve offers from major U.S. banks, each read from the bank's own page on the date stamped below. Top tiers sum to about $5,000. Nobody collects all twelve: geography and lockouts remove several for any one person, and the cash requirements collide if run at once. Which ones you can run, and in what order, is what the calendar is for.

"Permissive" means the bank's published definition names payroll but its deposit system is reported to accept a wider range of incoming ACH credits; "payroll" means the written definition and reported results both point to an employer or benefit payment; "strict" means the definition excludes other electronic deposits by name. "Recurring" means the bank measures deposits monthly rather than once. All lane labels are editorial readings of the banks' terms and reported datapoints, not promises. Bonuses are taxable income.
How to read the list
- The lane column is the one that matters. Amount and requirement are public. Whether you can clear the requirement without touching payroll is the difference between a sequence and a chore. What counts as a direct deposit explains the categories.
- Lockouts decide which rows are yours. Bank of America, U.S. Bank, Huntington, KeyBank, BMO, PNC, and TD each look back 12 months at prior checking ownership. Chase allows one bonus per two years. Capital One's lookback is a fixed date, January 1, 2024. TD excludes anyone who ever received one of its checking bonuses. Wells Fargo asks about bonuses paid, not accounts held. SoFi excludes anyone who has ever set up direct deposit with it.
- Geography removes a third of the list for most people. Huntington is 21 states, BMO is 14, and U.S. Bank, KeyBank, PNC, and TD are footprint banks. The national lanes are Bank of America, Chase, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Citi, and SoFi.
- Deadlines cluster in the next three months. U.S. Bank closes October 20, Citi October 26, TD November 30, KeyBank December 11, BMO December 15, SoFi December 31. Most are reissued in some form, but the terms change at each edition.

BMO, up to $600 over six months
Open a Smart Money, Smart Advantage, or Relationship Checking account between September 9 and December 15, 2026, as a resident of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wisconsin. Starting the month after opening, each month with $1,000 or more in qualifying direct deposits earns $100, paid about ten days into the following month, for up to six months. A missed month does not end the sequence. BMO's definition is regular income from an employer or similar payer, excludes transfers from any bank or brokerage by name, and reserves the right to ask for a pay stub, which makes this a recurring-payroll lane rather than a one-time one. Smart Advantage has no monthly fee. Existing BMO checking customers and anyone who closed BMO checking in the last 12 months are excluded. Verify at bmo.com →
PNC, $400 or $100
Open Virtual Wallet with Performance Select online or with a branch coupon by January 7, 2027, and receive $5,000 in qualifying direct deposits to the Spend account within 60 days for $400; the plain Virtual Wallet pays $100 on $500. PNC's definition is a recurring direct deposit of a paycheck, pension, Social Security, or other regular income from an employer or outside agency, and it excludes account-to-account transfers. Payout is 60 to 90 days after conditions are met. Excluded: anyone with existing PNC checking or who closed one in the last 12 months, and anyone who received a PNC promotional premium on a checking account in the last 24 months. Performance Select carries a $25 monthly fee with its own waivers; Virtual Wallet's is $7, waived by $500 in monthly direct deposits or a $500 average balance. Offer may vary by market. TD, $300 or $200
Through November 30, 2026: TD Beyond Checking pays $300 on $2,500 in qualifying direct deposits; TD Complete Checking pays $200 on $500. Each deposit must be at least $250 and must be electronic payroll, pension, or government benefits; person-to-person and bank transfers, including from brokerages, are excluded by name. The deposit window is set in TD's account guide rather than on the offer page. The bonus posts on or before day 180 from opening, and TD reserves the right to deduct it if the account closes within six months of opening, which makes this the one lane in the list with a published clawback. Excluded: existing TD personal checking customers, anyone who closed TD checking in the last 12 months, and anyone who has ever received a TD personal checking bonus. Beyond carries a $25 fee, waived by $5,000 in direct deposits per cycle, a $2,500 minimum daily balance, or $25,000 in combined balances; Complete's $15 fee is waived by $500 in direct deposits, a $500 minimum daily balance, or $5,000 combined. What the list does not tell you
Three things, and they are the product. Which transfer each permissive bank's system currently counts, and from where. Which order to run the lanes so the same $10,000 or $25,000 satisfies several requirements in a year without colliding. And when each account is safe to close. The flagship sequence on the front page shows one lane in that form, with the method row withheld. How the calendar works explains the rest.
Your calendar is assembled from two checkout questions: the cash you can cycle and the banks you have held checking with in the last 24 months. Lanes you are locked out of do not appear.
